These Product Listing Rules set the baseline requirements for products, services, and related content listed for sale on BazaarCo.
They apply to listings, Store pages, photos, videos, titles, descriptions, specifications, pricing displays, warnings, and other listing-related content published by Sellers or their representatives.
These Rules should be read together with the Seller Policy, Seller Code of Conduct, Prohibited Products Policy, Intellectual Property Policy, and Terms & Conditions.
1. Core Principle
Every listing on BazaarCo must be clear, accurate, lawful, and not misleading.
A Buyer should be able to understand from the listing what is being offered, what condition it is in, what it costs, what important limitations apply, and what they should reasonably expect to receive.
2. Basic Information Every Listing Must Include
Each listing must include enough information for a Buyer to make an informed purchase. Depending on the category, this may include:
- product or service name;
- correct category and subcategory;
- brand or manufacturer name where applicable;
- producer, importer, distributor, or service-provider identity where relevant or legally required;
- key specifications, features, or materials;
- size, quantity, weight, dimensions, or pack count where relevant;
- final payable price, applicable taxes, and any additional disclosed charges that form part of the buyer-facing purchase flow;
- stock or availability status where supported by the listing flow;
- available payment methods where the listing or checkout flow presents them;
- expected dispatch timing, delivery date, or delivery window where such information is shown to the Buyer;
- warranty, guarantee, or after-sales information where offered;
- seller or manufacturer details where required by law or category norms;
- country of origin where relevant, especially for imported goods;
- manufacture date, expiry date, or best-before information where relevant;
- returnability, cancellation, or special handling conditions where required;
- safety warnings, age restrictions, or usage precautions where applicable; and
- any other mandatory information required by category, law, or BazaarCo policy.
The exact information required may vary by category, product type, and legal obligation.
Where Nepal law requires a specific disclosure to be shown before purchase, the Seller must provide that information in a form BazaarCo can display clearly and accessibly to the Buyer.
3. Accurate Titles and Descriptions
Titles and descriptions must:
- match the actual Product being sold;
- avoid false, exaggerated, or unverifiable claims;
- clearly identify important attributes such as variant, size, model, color, or condition;
- not hide material limitations or defects; and
- not use irrelevant keywords solely to manipulate search or traffic.
Do not describe a Product as:
original, genuine, official, authorized, or branded unless that claim is true and supportable;
new if the Product is used, refurbished, opened, or repackaged;
in stock if you do not reasonably expect to fulfill the Order; or
guaranteed or safe in a way that overstates what you can lawfully promise.
4. Images, Videos, and Other Media
Listing media must:
- show the actual Product or a fair and clearly representative depiction of it;
- not materially mislead Buyers about quality, size, condition, included accessories, or results;
- not conceal major defects, exclusions, or differences;
- not include deceptive watermarks, overlays, or fake endorsements; and
- be used only if the Seller has the right to use that media.
If the listing uses demonstration or promotional visuals, the overall impression must still be accurate.
Media use must comply with BazaarCo's Intellectual Property Policy.
5. Bulk Uploads and Platform Migration Rules
Sellers may use catalog exports, CSV files, Excel files, JSON files, product feeds, image URLs, or other bulk upload materials obtained from their own external e-commerce dashboards to populate a BazaarCo Store, provided the Seller has the legal right to use and migrate that material.
The following rules apply to all bulk uploads, catalog imports, and platform migrations:
- Image ownership required: You may upload product photos, brand assets, graphics, and media files only if you own the copyright, have permission from the rights owner, are an authorized distributor, or otherwise have a valid legal right to use those materials on BazaarCo.
- No scraped material: You must not use automated tools, scraping tools, browser extensions, bots, or third-party services to pull images, descriptions, or catalog data from other marketplaces, brand websites, or seller shops unless you have clear authorization to use that content.
- No unauthorized brand assets: You must not upload copyrighted brand imagery, logos, packaging images, product descriptions, manuals, celebrity images, or marketing materials without the express consent of the relevant rights owner or another valid legal basis.
- Self-hosted and clean files: Image URLs and media links in your upload files must not permanently hotlink to protected external servers, private dashboards, restricted third-party CDN URLs, or files that you are not authorized to copy. BazaarCo's ingestion system may copy uploaded or linked images onto BazaarCo-controlled storage during the upload process.
- Accurate ownership records: You should keep invoices, authorization letters, distributor agreements, photographer releases, license records, or other proof showing your right to use uploaded product data and imagery.
- Liability warning: If you upload copyrighted, trademarked, scraped, stolen, hotlinked, or otherwise unauthorized content, BazaarCo may delete the affected listing, reject your upload file, suspend your seller account, hold merchant payouts while the issue is investigated, and require you to cover any third-party claims, legal costs, or losses arising from the upload.
6. Pricing and Charge Disclosure
Listings must not mislead Buyers about price.
Sellers must:
- enter prices truthfully;
- ensure the buyer-facing purchase flow can show the final payable amount in a clear and non-misleading way;
- avoid hidden charges in the listing or after buyer commitment;
- disclose delivery-related charges through the BazaarCo flow where required;
- avoid fake discounts, false reference prices, or misleading sale claims; and
- ensure promotional pricing remains consistent with the commercial offer actually available.
If a listing is affected by an obvious pricing or data-entry error, BazaarCo may correct, pause, or remove the listing, and affected Orders may be canceled under applicable policy.
7. Category-Specific and Regulated Information
Some products require additional listing details or legal controls. Examples may include:
- food, beverages, cosmetics, or supplements;
- electronics and appliances;
- medical, wellness, or regulated products;
- alcohol, tobacco, or age-restricted goods;
- imported products;
- personalized or made-to-order products; and
- products requiring license, permit, or safety disclosure.
Sellers are responsible for ensuring that regulated or restricted listings contain all required information and are listed only where law and BazaarCo policy permit it.
Where a product requires a separate license, registration, permit, approval, warning, prescription, or other legal condition before sale, the Seller must not list or sell it without satisfying that requirement.
8. Inventory and Fulfillment Accuracy
Sellers must keep listings reasonably aligned with actual availability and fulfillment capability.
Do not:
- list products you do not intend or expect to supply;
- maintain obviously inaccurate stock levels;
- repeatedly accept Orders for unavailable items; or
- use bait listings to attract Buyers to other products or off-platform deals.
Repeated inventory inaccuracy or post-order cancellation patterns may lead to listing restrictions or account action.
9. Prohibited Listing Practices
The following are prohibited:
- counterfeit, fake, pirated, stolen, or unauthorized goods;
- listings for prohibited or restricted products without required authorization;
- misleading health, safety, medical, or performance claims;
- use of another brand's trademarks, logos, or content in a deceptive way;
- duplicate, spam, or manipulative listings intended to dominate search;
- off-platform contact or payment solicitation in listing content;
- false claims of scarcity, popularity, or certification;
- manipulated reviews, testimonials, or rating statements in listings; and
- any listing content that is unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, or otherwise violates BazaarCo policy.
10. Returns, Warranty, and After-Sales Statements
If you state that a Product is returnable, refundable, replaceable, or covered by a warranty, that statement must be accurate and consistent with:
- BazaarCo's Return and Refund Policy,
- BazaarCo's Cancellation Policy,
- BazaarCo's Buyer Protection Policy, and
- any seller-specific warranty or after-sales commitment that you actually honor.
Do not misrepresent a Product as non-returnable or warranty-covered in a way that overrides mandatory consumer rights.
11. BazaarCo Review, Editing, and Removal Rights
BazaarCo may review, moderate, edit, restrict, hide, pause, or remove a listing where we reasonably believe it:
- is inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading;
- violates law or BazaarCo policy;
- creates safety, authenticity, fraud, or consumer-protection risk;
- infringes intellectual property rights;
- falls within a prohibited or restricted category;
- is associated with suspicious seller behavior; or
- otherwise threatens the integrity of the Platform.
BazaarCo may request clarification or supporting evidence from the Seller before allowing a listing to remain active.
12. Seller Responsibility for Compliance
The Seller is responsible for the listing, even where content is created or uploaded by staff, agencies, resellers, fulfillment partners, or other representatives acting on the Seller's behalf.
Sellers should maintain reasonable records supporting important listing claims, especially for:
- authenticity;
- source and authorization;
- ingredients or composition;
- technical specifications;
- regulated-product compliance; and
- warranty or certification claims.
13. Enforcement
If a listing violates these Rules, BazaarCo may take one or more actions, including:
- warning the Seller;
- requiring listing correction;
- reducing listing visibility;
- removing listing media or content;
- suspending or deleting the listing;
- holding payouts connected to the affected transaction;
- restricting category access; or
- suspending or terminating the Seller account for repeated or serious violations.
