This Warranty and Authenticity Policy explains how product warranty disclosures, authenticity claims, and related after-sales issues are handled on BazaarCo.
It should be read together with the Terms and Conditions, Return and Refund Policy, Buyer Protection Policy, Intellectual Property Policy, and Prohibited Products Policy.
BazaarCo operates a marketplace. Unless BazaarCo expressly states otherwise, warranties are usually provided by the Seller, manufacturer, brand owner, importer, or authorized service provider, not by BazaarCo itself.
1. Warranty Disclosure
Where a product is sold with a warranty, guarantee, or service commitment, the product page, checkout flow, invoice, packaging, warranty card, or related product documentation may state:
- whether warranty coverage exists;
- the warranty provider;
- the warranty period;
- what the warranty covers or excludes; and
- the process for making a claim, where available.
If no warranty is stated, Buyers should not assume that a manufacturer or seller warranty applies beyond any rights that may arise under applicable law or BazaarCo policy.
2. Types of Warranty That May Apply
Depending on the product and seller arrangement, coverage may come from one or more of the following:
- manufacturer warranty;
- brand or authorized distributor warranty;
- seller warranty;
- importer warranty;
- service-center-backed warranty; or
- limited replacement or repair support offered through BazaarCo or a seller campaign.
The scope of coverage may differ by product, category, brand, and seller.
3. What Warranty Usually Covers
Warranty coverage, where offered, generally relates to manufacturing defects, functional failures, or material faults that arise within the stated warranty period under normal intended use.
Warranty coverage may allow for:
- repair;
- replacement;
- parts replacement;
- service-center support; or
- another remedy stated in the applicable warranty terms.
Warranty coverage does not automatically mean a refund right, and the available remedy may depend on the product type, service findings, stock availability, and the warranty provider’s terms.
4. What Warranty Usually Does Not Cover
Unless the applicable warranty states otherwise, warranty coverage may not apply to issues caused by:
- misuse, mishandling, abuse, or negligence;
- accidental damage, liquid damage, or impact damage;
- unauthorized repair, modification, or tampering;
- failure to follow instructions, care guidance, or installation requirements;
- ordinary wear and tear or consumable depletion;
- cosmetic issues that do not affect normal functionality; or
- loss of accessories, packaging, or non-essential components unless the warranty expressly covers them.
5. Authenticity Expectations
Sellers on BazaarCo must sell only genuine and lawfully sourced products.
Sellers must not:
- offer counterfeit, fake-branded, replica, pirated, or unauthorized goods;
- falsely claim that an item is original, official, branded, imported, or manufacturer-backed when it is not;
- misuse logos, packaging, or serial information to imply authenticity deceptively; or
- advertise unauthorized warranty support as though it were official brand coverage.
Authenticity obligations are also governed by the Intellectual Property Policy and Prohibited Products Policy.
6. BazaarCo’s Role
BazaarCo is not the manufacturer or default warranty provider for third-party marketplace products. However, BazaarCo may:
- require sellers to disclose warranty information clearly;
- review authenticity complaints and warranty-related disputes;
- coordinate communication between Buyers and Sellers;
- request proof of authenticity, invoices, authorization records, or warranty documents from Sellers;
- help route buyers to the appropriate seller, brand, or service center process; and
- enforce marketplace consequences where a Seller misrepresents authenticity or fails to honor stated commitments.
If BazaarCo expressly applies a label or formal claim such as authentic, original, official, or similar assurance to a marketplace product or program, BazaarCo may require heightened authenticity evidence from the Seller and may apply stricter refund, removal, or enforcement action if that commitment cannot be supported.
7. Documents Buyers Should Keep
To support warranty or authenticity-related claims, Buyers should retain where available:
- the order confirmation or order number;
- invoice or proof of purchase;
- warranty card, if supplied;
- serial number, IMEI, batch code, or model identifier where relevant;
- product packaging and labels for a reasonable period if authenticity may later be questioned; and
- photos or videos of the issue where appropriate.
Failure to keep supporting documents does not automatically remove rights required by law, but it may affect what BazaarCo, the Seller, or the warranty provider can verify.
8. How to Raise a Warranty Claim
If a product issue appears to fall under warranty:
- Check the product listing, invoice, packaging, or warranty card for the warranty provider and process.
- Contact BazaarCo through your order history or support channels if you need help identifying the correct route.
- Provide the order details, description of the fault, and any supporting evidence requested.
- Follow the repair, inspection, service-center, pickup, return, or replacement steps communicated for the claim.
Warranty claims may require inspection, diagnosis, or service-center confirmation before a final remedy is determined.
9. How to Report a Counterfeit or False Authenticity Claim
If you believe a product is counterfeit, fake, unlawfully branded, or falsely marketed as authentic, you should report it promptly through BazaarCo support or the order workflow.
Where reasonably possible, provide:
- the order number;
- photos or videos of the product, packaging, labels, and serial markings;
- a description of why authenticity is disputed;
- any brand, service-center, or expert feedback you received; and
- any other supporting evidence available.
BazaarCo may investigate the complaint, request documents from the Seller, and decide the matter under the Buyer Protection Policy, Return and Refund Policy, and Intellectual Property Policy.
10. Possible Outcomes
Depending on the facts, BazaarCo or the relevant warranty provider may facilitate one or more of the following:
- repair;
- replacement;
- service-center referral;
- return and refund;
- partial refund;
- rejection of the claim where unsupported; or
- seller enforcement action, including listing removal, payout hold, suspension, or account termination.
11. Relationship With Return and Refund Rights
Warranty support is different from return or refund rights.
In general:
- issues discovered on arrival, including wrong item, transit damage, counterfeit concerns, or obvious defects, may fall under the Return and Refund Policy and Buyer Protection Policy;
- issues arising later during use may be governed primarily by the applicable warranty terms; and
- BazaarCo may determine the most appropriate policy route based on timing, product category, evidence, and the nature of the problem.
12. Policy Updates
BazaarCo may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in law, category practices, seller onboarding standards, service models, or dispute trends. The latest version will be posted on the Platform with the updated effective date.
